This page focuses only on this company, for consumers of Multan Electric Power Company. Enter your 14-digit reference number and instantly see your current bill, due date, units and payment status. The official portal is bill.pitc.com.pk/mepcobill, and this checker takes live data from that same portal. The mepco online bill result shows amount, due date and units. You can check bill online for every district in South Punjab with the same mepco online bill check. Every bill check here uses the same official portal data.
In the picture below, see where the label Reference No. is printed on the bill. Enter the same 14-digit number in the checker above, without spaces or dashes, and your bill will open. This number is different for every connection. Below it is the 10-digit Customer ID, but only the reference number is used to check a bill.
Multan Electric Power Company, commonly called MEPCO, is the company that distributes electricity in South Punjab. Its head office is on Khanewal Road, Multan. People often call its bill a “WAPDA bill”, but the name printed on the bill is MEPCO's, because WAPDA no longer issues household bills. The company was incorporated in May 1998 and now works under the Ministry of Energy (Power Division).
MEPCO serves 13 districts: Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanewal, Vehari, Muzaffargarh, Lodhran, Layyah, Rajanpur, Pakpattan and Bahawalnagar. Consumers living in these districts get their bills from this company, whether they live in a city or a village. The network is reported to have 9 circles, 38 divisions and 181 subdivisions, covering approximately 97,000 to 106,000 square kilometres.

The reference number is printed at the top of every bill, usually on the left side. It has 14 digits and is different for every connection. If your home, shop or tubewell have separate connections, each will have a different reference number, and each must be checked separately. Below the reference number is the 10-digit Customer ID, which sometimes helps in finding a bill.
When entering the number, do not add spaces, dashes or any letters. Enter digits only. If the number is wrong, the system will show a “no bill record” or “does not belong” error. That does not mean the bill does not exist — the number or company may be wrong.
After your bill opens in this page's checker, click the “Original / duplicate bill” link. That bill is ready to print and can also be saved as a PDF. A duplicate bill can also be used for cash payment at a bank branch, Pakistan Post office or NADRA e-Sahulat retailer. If you are paying online, you do not need a duplicate — only the reference number is enough.
You can pay your bill through the 1Bill section of a bank app, through Easypaisa or JazzCash, or by showing your duplicate bill at any commercial bank branch. When paying, always verify the name and amount on the screen, because a payment made against a wrong reference number can go to another connection. After payment, keep a screenshot of the transaction ID. Payment usually clears within 24–48 hours, after which checking again shows the paid status. This is also how to check a MEPCO bill online, and no separate login is needed to view a MEPCO bill online. The MEPCO SMART app also lets you view and pay bills, but it uses the same 14-digit reference number.
Apart from bill checking, people often search for these three tasks. A separate page has been made for each one, so the information is available in detail in one place.

Helpline page →The online method for getting a new meter, the documents needed, what the charges depend on, and how long it takes.
New connection guide →A bill is not just a total amount. When you check a MEPCO bill, you see these details, and each one has its own meaning:
| Item | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Consumer name and address | The name and address the connection is registered under |
| Reference number / Customer ID | 14-digit reference number at the top, 10-digit Customer ID below it |
| Billing month and meter reading | Previous reading, current reading, and the difference between them = units |
| Units consumed | How much electricity was used this month |
| Current charges, taxes and duties | GST, electricity duty and other charges, along with energy charges |
| Due date and total payable | How much to pay within the due date, and how much it will increase if paid late |
| Late payment surcharge | The extra charge applied after the due date |
Checking online means you do not need to visit an office. Your bill can be viewed 24 hours a day, any day of the week, from a mobile or computer, and a duplicate can be downloaded at once. People living abroad can also view their family's bills, and each month's record can be kept saved as a PDF. This also makes budgeting easier, because you know before the due date how much you have to pay.
If your bill suddenly increases, first check these things: are the units higher than last month, did the AC run more in hot weather, is an old fridge, motor or heater using more electricity, and did the FPA or taxes change this month? If the units are the same but the amount is higher, the FPA or a surcharge may be the reason. If the units themselves suddenly increased, take a photo of the meter reading and get it verified by the subdivision office.
Install LED bulbs, switch off the lights and fans in rooms that are not in use, keep AC filters clean, and try to run heavy appliances outside peak hours. Keeping a record of your bill every month also shows which month your usage increased and why.
Use these channels for outages, meter faults, overbilling or a missing bill. No official person will ask you for money in a personal JazzCash/Easypaisa account in the name of a bill or meter, and will not ask for your OTP or PIN.

Keep the complaint number you receive by SMS after complaining. If the complaint is not resolved on time, it can be escalated to NEPRA's complaint system with the same number, but the company must be given a chance first.
MEPCO Bill Check is the quickest way to see a bill, but offices still handle everything the portal cannot: new connections, load changes, meter disputes and complaints that need a site visit. MEPCO's head office is the MEPCO Complex on Khanewal Road, Multan. It manages its area through nine operation circles, each led by a Superintending Engineer, divided into 38 divisions and 181 sub-divisions. The sub-division office named on the bill is the first point of contact for almost every consumer matter, because it holds the record for the connection, arranges meter reading and carries out disconnection and reconnection work.
The table below names the nine circles, the divisions under each one, and the circle office landline where it could be confirmed from MEPCO's own telephone directory. Division names change when the network is reorganised, so the list should be read as the current working structure, and the bill itself remains the final word on which division and sub-division serve a connection.
| Operation circle | Headquarters city | Main divisions | Circle office landline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Multan | Multan | Cantt, Mumtazabad, City, Shujabad, Moosa Pak, S.R. Alam | 061-9220258 |
| Khanewal | Khanewal | Khanewal, Mian Channu, Kabirwala | — |
| Vehari | Vehari | Vehari, Burewala, Mailsi | 067-9201109 |
| Sahiwal | Sahiwal | Sahiwal-I, Sahiwal-II, Pakpattan, Arifwala, Chichawatni | — |
| Bahawalpur | Bahawalpur | Bahawalpur, Model Town, Kahror Pakka, Hasilpur, Lodhran, Ahmedpur East, Dunyapur | 062-9250109 |
| Bahawalnagar | Bahawalnagar | Bahawalnagar, Haroonabad, Chishtian | — |
| Rahim Yar Khan | Rahim Yar Khan | Rahim Yar Khan, Khanpur, Liaquatpur, Sadiqabad | — |

| Dera Ghazi Khan | Dera Ghazi Khan | Dera Ghazi Khan, Kot Chutta, Taunsa, Jampur, Rajanpur | 064-9260229 |
Circle office landlines shown above were read from MEPCO's published telephone directory; numbers for the remaining circles are not listed here. When visiting any office, take the CNIC, the latest bill showing the reference number, and any complaint number already issued.
MEPCO serves 13 districts of South Punjab. The table below sets out each district, the operation circle that serves it, and the main towns in it. The district list itself is published by MEPCO; the town lists describe the settled areas of each district in general geographic terms.

Two points need care. First, Lodhran is served through the Bahawalpur and Multan circle structure, and the bill shows which division holds a particular connection, so the bill decides any borderline case. Second, consumers in Okara district belong to LESCO, and consumers in Jhang district belong to FESCO, even though both districts border MEPCO's area.
A new connection is applied for through the national Electricity New Connection (ENC) portal, where the applicant selects MEPCO and the sub-division shown on a neighbour's bill, uploads the required documents and receives a tracking number. The usual documents are the applicant's CNIC, proof of ownership or legal occupation of the premises, a neighbour's recent bill and a wiring test report from a licensed contractor. MEPCO also offers its SMART app for consumer services, and some guides report that new connection applications are handled through the app; applicants should follow whichever channel the company currently directs them to and keep the tracking number from the channel they used. After a site survey, MEPCO issues a demand notice showing the approved load and the charges. The notice must be paid within the validity period printed on it, and only against the official notice.
A load extension follows the same route when the sanctioned load is no longer enough, and the approved load and any meter change appear on the demand notice. A name change is handled at the area office with the CNIC, the latest bill and the documents supporting the change. Agricultural connections, including tubewells, are a large part of MEPCO's work in South Punjab and are applied for through the same ENC route, with the load and tariff category decided on the application and the survey. If a meter reading looks wrong, photograph the meter showing the reading, note the date, and report it at the sub-division office or through the helpline, keeping the photograph for the visit that follows. A faulty, burnt or stopped meter should be reported the same way, and the meter must not be opened or repaired by the consumer, since it is company property.
Net metering for solar systems follows NEPRA's Distributed Generation and Net Metering Regulations of 2015. The system must be installed by a certified installer, the application goes to MEPCO with a certificate from the Electric Inspector, and after technical review an agreement is signed and NEPRA issues a generation licence. MEPCO then installs a bi-directional meter recording both the units taken from the grid and the surplus units sent back. Because the rules on system size and on the treatment of exported units change from time to time, the current regulations and MEPCO's own procedure should be checked before a system is bought.
Beyond the energy charge, a MEPCO bill can carry arrears carried forward from earlier bills, an instalment or deferred amount allowed to be paid over coming months, and a detection bill raised when a meter is found to have recorded less than the electricity actually used. The fuel price adjustment appears with a lag, because it relates to the fuel cost of an earlier month, which is why two months with the same units can still differ in total. Consumers on time-of-use or three-phase meters may also see a maximum demand indicator figure recording the highest load drawn in the month. Comparing the individual lines of two months, rather than only the totals, usually shows which line caused a change.
A complaint should start at the sub-division office or through the helpline and the CCMS complaint system, and the complaint number received should be kept safe. If there is no response, follow up with the same number at the division office, then at the circle office, and then at the head office. The CCMS system allows the same complaint to be tracked and escalated. If the matter remains unresolved after the company has had a fair chance to act, it can be taken to NEPRA's complaint system with the complaint number, the reference number and copies of the bills concerned.
Enter your 14-digit reference number on this page and click Check. Or go to the official portal, bill.pitc.com.pk/mepcobill, and enter the same number there. The mepco bill online check shows the current month for any district in South Punjab.
Check your bill again 24–48 hours after payment. If the payment has cleared, you will see a paid status or zero payable. Keep your receipt safe. An online mepco bill check after payment confirms whether the payment has cleared.
Online, you usually get the current and previous month's bills. For older records, contact the subdivision office with your CNIC and reference number. You can check bill online here or on the portal, and both show the same pitc mepco bill with the same reference number, readings and charges.
Try the 10-digit Customer ID, which is printed below the reference number. If you have neither, look for an old bill or contact helpline 118 with your meter details.
After your bill opens in this checker, print it or save it as a PDF from the original-bill link. This duplicate is valid at banks and payment points.
After the due date, you must pay the after-due-date amount, which includes a late payment surcharge. Paying within the due date is therefore better.
FPA means fuel price adjustment. It can change every month according to fuel prices, so two months' bills can differ slightly even if the units are the same.
Take a photo of the meter, note your reading, and register a complaint at the subdivision office or helpline 118. Do keep your complaint number safe.
